I have used Essential Construction for two exstensive home remodels, as well as several small projects. The quality of their work is exceptional; every detail executed with deft precision and artistry. Equally important, they finished every project on time. Moreover, their pricing is incredibly reasonable . . . actually, their pricing is far too low given the stellar quality of their work product. The owner of the company, John Mazur, is the most knowledgeable and professional contractor I have ever dealt with. He has a long history in the construction industry and is intimately familiar with every detail of the work to be performed, including by the subcontractors. John supervises everything with an eagle eye (as opposed to other contractors, who merely bid the job then hand it over to subs with little follow-up). John is also surprisingly helpful with design decisions. John's employees are also very professional. I HIGHLY recommend Essential Construction! There is no better contractor in LA. His price on the big remodel was the best I got and the quality of work is excellent. John is quick to make it right if I've ever been unhappy. John is always reasonable when the inevitable surprises come up. You can talk to him to figure out solutions that work and that are fair; he's not going to kill you with "change orders." He keeps almost all the work "in house" so you won't have a bunch of sub contractors to deal with. As one of the other reviewers said, John has a good design sense too - you'd be amazed with the details that need to be figured out even if you have an architect on the job. Most importantly, John responds immediately when you need him - even long after he finished the job! I have recommended him to countless friends and coworkers.
